Abstract:
|
Suppose that each member of a society has a view about every individual, including himself, whether or not this individual is a member of some social subgroup J. A Collective Identity Function (CIF) assigns a collective meaning to the question "Who is a J?" for each profile of individual opinions. By the Liberal CIF (LCIF) an individual is collective identified as a J if and only if his answer to the question "Am I a J?” is positive. In this note we study a situation where the individuals in the society have intuitionistic fuzzy views about each other, i.e. they can use all numbers between 0 and 1 in order to give a characterization of themselves. We follow Kasher and Rubinstein (1998) and extend their axiomatic characterization of the LCIF to our general environment.
