Abstract: In the theory of fuzzy sets, various methods are discussed for the generation of values of the membership function (for instance, see [5, 6, 8, 9]). Here we will discuss a way of generation of the two degrees — of membership and of non-membership that exist in the intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs). For other approaches of assigning membership and non-membership functions of IFSs, see [7].
