International Workshop on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets is a workshop event organized annually in Warsaw, Poland since 2001 year. It mainly focuses on new developments in the theory and applications of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFS) and generalized nets (GN), invented by Professor Krassimir Atanassov. However, the workshop also discusses other topics related to broadly perceived representation and processing of uncertain and imprecise information and knowledge, and intelligent systems.

The chief organizing institutions of IWIFSGN are:

  • Systems Research Institute, Polish Academy of Sciences, Warsaw, Poland,
  • Centre for Biomedical Engineering, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in Sofia, Bulgaria, and
  • Warsaw School of Information Technology in Warsaw, Poland.

Recently, the affiliated co-organizers are:

  • Matej Bel University, Banská Bystrica, Slovakia,
  • Harrow School of Computer Science, University of Westminster, London, UK,
  • University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro, Vila Real, Portugal,
  • Public University of Navarra, Pamplona, Spain.

The workshop has proved to be successful by enabling the participation of many researchers, notably young ones, and vivid discussions following the plenary talks given by leading experts in the fields. The workshop communications are published after a peer review in the international journal Issues in Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets and Generalized Nets.

Due to the open formula of the workshop, which is meant to provide an opportunity to integrate senior and junior researchers, participants are invited to come with their collaborators, coauthors and PhD students.
