Abstract: In the present work an example for modeling information flows in SMEs is considered. In the development of the models an organization structure of company that sells and services automobiles is used.

The developed models are aimed at showing whether there is loss of information, what is the size of the losses, and to provide idea for the bottlenecks of the company’s structure. They allow the simulation of different company structures or its units and finding an optimal solution.

In the development of the model of information flows a hierarchical approach with capabilities for going into detail and expansion was chosen.
