Two projects proposals concerning [[generalized nets]] were today handed at the Bulgarian National Science Fund. One of them, called ''Software Implementation of Generalized Nets in Intelligent Systems (SIGNIS)'', involved 40 participants from 7 partnering institutions and 3 foreign associated partners and applied for funding totaling to EUR 280 000 for a three year period. The proposal was elaborated on the pages of Ifigenia. The other project proposal involved 10 participants from 3 partnering institutions and applied for funding of EUR 120 000 for a three year period.
Results of both project proposals are expected to be announced in the end of October 2009.

Springer released the book "Index Matrices: Towards an Augmented Matrix Calculus" by Krassimir Atanassov. This is the first monograph that presents the very concept of an index matrix and its related augmented matrix calculus in a comprehensive form.

It mostly illustrates the exposition with examples related to the generalized nets and intuitionistic fuzzy sets which are examples of an extremely wide array of possible application areas. The present book contains the basic results of the author over index matrices and some of its open problems with the aim to stimulating more researchers to start working in this area.
